The Arrangement of the 4th Japan-Lao Public-Private Joint Dialogues
On February 17, 2025, the 4th Japan-Lao Public-Private Joint Dialogue was held at the Champasak Provincial Hall Conference Room by the Pakse Branch of the Lao Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Champasak Province. Approximately 24 people from Japan and 21 people from Champasak Province attended, including those who participated online.
The conference was co-chaired by Ambassador Plenipotentiary Koizumi from the Embassy of Japan in Laos and Governor Alounxai from Champasak Province, and proceeded in a dialogic format.
This year, we will focus on (1) improvement of the procedure for issuing multiple entry-exit visas, (2) improvement of National Road No 13 South (section 8 km to 19 km), (3) reducing power outages, (4) 100% tax payment through the TAXRIS system and (5) Improving One-Stop Services. Based on these five themes, Dialogue was held between the Japanese side and Champasak sides to resolve and improve the issues. The sincere and serious attitude of both the Japanese side and the Champasak province side is expected to lead to further improvements in the business environment in Champasak Province in the future.
