Support activities for damage of dam collapse in Sanamxay District, Attapue Province in the Lao P.D.R.
On the night of the 23rd July, 2018 we would like to report you that the first dispatch of relief supplies arrived in heard quarters for disaster recovery management office of Sanamxay District in Attapeu Province on 23 July, 2018.
All companies in PJSEZ (Sanko Lao Co., Ltd., Power (Pakse) Co., Ltd., All Japan Budogu Lao Co., Ltd.) and local staffs of each company also provided the relief supplies to the victims and they were combined and packed as relief supplies from Japanese companies in Pakse-Japan SME SEZ.
We have delivered the relief supplies to the victims in Sanamxay District. Road conditions of around 40 Km to Sanamxay city from Attapeu city center is a dirt road (mud road) and the bridges on the route were not so good condition. We took time for 4.5 hours for one way from Pakse city.
It was not possible to enter the flooded area because it required a special permission. According to the disaster recovery management office, overseas supports came from more than 100 countries and organizations.
