Hygiene and Health Inspection for Factories in Pakse–Japan SME SEZ
On 05 September 2025, the Champasak Special Economic Zone Authority (CSEZ), in cooperation with the Provincial Health Department (PHD) and Provincial Hospital (PH), conducted Hygiene and Health inspection among the factories located in Pakse–Japan SME SEZ (PJSEZ).
Prior to the factory inspections, a seminar was held in PJSEZ conference room. At the seminar, participants learned about diseases that commonly occur during the rainy season, particularly malaria and dengue fever, which are transmitted by mosquitoes. PHD also provided guidance on disease prevention and control measures and outlined the relevant laws and regulations relating to labor, hygiene, and health.
This initiative aims to ensure the safety and health of both domestic and foreign workers and to prevent potential outbreak of diseases, particularly during the rainy season. Regular monitoring and supervision are being carried out to maintain a safe and healthy working environment, in accordance with the applicable regulations and laws of the Lao PDR.
CSEZ encourages all companies and factories to fully cooperate and actively participate in maintaining workplace hygiene and implementing necessary health measures. Continuous compliance will help the safeguard of workers’ health and support smooth business operations throughout the rainy season and beyond.
Then, CSEZ and the team visited each factory to closely inspected sanitation conditions, including adequate water supply, proper equipment maintenance, and separate toilet for men and women. The team encouraged employees to do light exercises during their short breaks to help maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
