H.E. Mr. Koizumi Tsutomu, Ambassador of Japan to Lao PDR visited PJSEZ

On 23 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Koizumi Tsutomu, the Ambassador of Japan to the Lao PDR including team work from the Embassy of Japan in Lao PDR visited the Pakse–Japan SME Special Economic Zone (PJSEZ) to observe the investment environment and Japanese companies’ businesses operating in PJSEZ.
The Ambassador Mr. Koizumi was warmly welcomed by Mr. Mochizuki, Managing Director of PJSEZ at PJSEZ Management Office. He briefed the Ambassador Mr. Koizumi on the current PJSEZ development and investment situation including its prospects as a zero-emission industrial park.
Following the PJSEZ briefing, the Ambassador Mr. Koizumi and team work toured a pilot plant of Lao Green Hydrogen Co., Ltd. which produces hydrogen-roasted coffee. The Ambassador Mr. Koizumi has observed the production process and learned about the company’s contributions to clean energy initiatives and local industrial development. Then, the Ambassador Mr. Koizumi toured the factory of Tsuge Lao Co., Ltd. and ISV Sole Co., Ltd., which produce the tobacco and smoking-related products in PJSEZ.
During this visit, the Ambassador Mr. Koizumi received a comprehensive explanation of the business operations of Japanese companies in PJSEZ, its future potential as a zero-emission industrial park, and the Laotian government’s cooperation framework.
Finally, the Ambassador Mr. Koizumi promised the Embassy of Japan in Lao PDR will further support the business operation of Japanese companies in PJSEZ in the future.
